It mounts right in the curve of the black piece of the back end below the bumper. On top all you need is a towel under the pads to protect the paint.

I know this post is ancient, but I'd really like to find a solution to carry my bike on the S2k. I saw the plate mount rack as well and was wondering if it's worth a try.

There is a company that makes a trunk rack specifically for our car with ski or bike attachments.

This is one of the resellers, the original site is better (but I can't find it)
