Default How to deal with too much attention?

I just got my S last week and have been excited about it ever since. However, the amount of attention it is getting from friends and family seems pretty extreme. To those of you not used to being the center of attention, how did you deal with the sudden flux of people asking 'can i go for a ride', 'rev the engine', and the dreaded 'can i drive it?'. I am generally a nice guy, but enough is enough. This car would be run into the ground in a week if I let everyone test drive it!! The topic question is: how do you say no to friends and family(cousins and uncles really) that love the car and want a piece of its action??

Move to California. Never did I hear comments like that. Leaving California and traveling to the United States is always an interesting experience.

Best quote, "Can I touch your car?"

Try this ...............................

Rub dog poo all over yourself, especially on your face and in your hair. Whenever you are seen in or near your car, make sure you pick your nose with your index finger buried DEEP in either nostril. Chew on a raw herring. I'll bet noone will ask you for a ride.

I've been enjoying the same attention. But yesterday I drove an Elise around, and I'd have to tie a naked supermodel to the hood of the S2000 to get those kind of stares.

It could be worse.

I know how difficult it may seem to turn down the requests- especially since you don't want to look like an ass who doesn't let their family/friend drive your car

BUT, if you feel uncomfortable and the car belongs to you...just be a man and decline...just say "maybe next time, when I feel comfortable to let others drive my car"
