How to cure the oversteer?
#21
yea i put a .2 degree in negative camber over stock on the front and a .1 in the rear witch is probably a little much but at higher speeds the car is very tractable but in the low speed stuff it almost feels like the tires are rolling on themselves but they arent i have no wear on the sidewall. was just curious if anyone had done a swaybar , and could let me know how much it helped.

Very true, the 04-05's handle much easier and nicer then the pre-04/05's. The modifications to the chasis and suspension mods really helped improve the handling. Although I disagree that it's harder to let the rear slide. Just apply a little more braking just before you begin your turn, and the rear begins to slide out nice and easy.
No, 04-05 doesn't handle nicer, It has been watered down for more comforts than pre 04s.
Let's get our facts straight

There is no modification to the chassis. Only suspension.

This was on hot version 10,000 rpm battle. Tsuchiya was in the 04, and orido was in the 03.

well actually they testted the JDm 04 vs. an 03 model. Basically as you know it has the same motor, but they mentioned that the chasis improvements, and the suspensions mods would help it on the course. They went at it and you could clearly see the handling difference between the two. The 04 wopuld enter the corner and exit much easier then the 03. It seemed like the 04 was just gaining while the 03 was slowly falling back.

Think you should learn more about the fundamentals of what causes oversteer/understeer. There are several, several variables that come into play. If you increased your contact patch in the front by adjusting the camber, you are inherently increasing oversteer (more contact patch up front + no change in back = more oversteer). Also as others have said, no throttle or breaking in a turn decreases backend weight thus decreasing back tire grip, traction etc.
BTW...I reached the 9/10ths area of my 05's handling the other day. I was taking a 25 mph curve at about 50 and you could feel the car just riding the line so I slowly backed off the throttle. Had three lanes to play with so I wasn't worried, but i didn't want to keep pushing it.

The Madman thought handling on the S was wonderful.
Very predictable and communicative the handling is. You always know when the rear is ready move. Although, don't get too crazy because there is no gas pedal to save you.
As for the unskilled, myself and others thank you for the big insurance payments....

My advice is still to have someone qualified drive it and give you their opinion. Sounds like you want to put band aids on the problem to further complicate matters.
Are there any shops that do race car alignments in your area? I would check that out. There's a good shop here in Atlanta and the guy who does the alignments will help you tune your car if you tell him what your experiencing.
Good luck.
