How come no one tints their windows?
A lot of cars I see on the road have their windows tinted, yet I dont' think I ever remember seeing an S2K (or any convertible) with tinted windows. Is there any reason for this, or am I just not looking hard enough. I'm wondering if perhaps it's cuz it's harder to tint the rear window in a convertible?

I would imagine that this is due to the fact that the top is down most of the times. Why would you tint the windows, (letting less light in) and open the top (letting ALL THE LIGHT in)??? Doesn't make sense.

The reasons for no tint are:
-plastic rear windows is hard to tint
-Blind spots when top up are big enough, tinting just adds to the problem
-Who cares about tinting windows when you drive with the top down most of the time!

I have tinted my windows at about 20% of light getting through, I did it cause i don't like people staring in the car at me and i think it looks good on spa yellow or black IMO, but it helps also when in the summer to keep the car cooler.

Hmmm... I guess it'd make sense not to tint if your top was down most of the time... but my S2K is a daily driver, so there are plenty of times when the top's up. I've been contemplating tinting the windows as I think it makes most cars look a lot better, but just wanted to make sure there weren't any problems with tinting a convertible. So, for those of you that have tinted, did you also get the rear window tinted? I have a '02, so it is a glass window....

I have mine tinted 15% with Formula One tint on the front windows for the maximum heat deflection.
I also have static cling tint on the back, which contrary to what another poster said, is easy to tint provided you have an hour and some static cling tint.

I have my windows tinted also. The Texas sun is brutal on interiors. When I park it, the top is always up and I always use a windshield sunscreen. This really helps protect the interior from fading and/or cracking.
