Look at that 90 degree turn of one of the scratches. Get in your car and see if your heel matches up with that.
Do you have any boots with metal in the back?
After the repaint, get a strip of ScotchCal (clear plastic paint protectant) to put over that area.

I used "Kits scratch remover" to buff out light scratches on my S and my other cars, E430 and LS400. The results were very good, much better than I expected before used it the first time about a year ago. I also used it to clean the plastic headlight covers.
It costs only few dollars at PepBoys, try it first before spending several hundreds dollars repainting the whole panel.

Before you get it repainted, get a paint pen and fill in the deep gouges then use langka or wet sand to take off the head of the paint fill, then porter cable it. In the end it will be cheaper and you have learned a detailing skill to boot.
