It is what it is.

Considering its handling prowess, its highway manners of the S2000 are truly impressive. The suspension tuning wizards at Honda really know their stuff. The car does NOT beat you up at all. The seats are incredibly well designed and very comfortable. (better than an '01 SLK I sold) I am amazed at how comfortable it is given its cornering capabilities. (This is my experience in the '04 anyway)

I just completed a 750 mile, 11 hour trip a week ago today in my S2000. The S2000 isn't really the best car for long trips (of course, I've yet to find a car that is comfortable after 11 hours) but it isn't that bad. My biggest complaint is it's range on fuel. For my trip from Bremerton, WA to Vacaville, CA I had to stop twice and by the time I rolled into Vacaville I was damn near running on fumes. My other car only requires one stop and still has about 3/8 of a tank left when I arrive.

the engine noise can become a little tiring after 5+hrs of driving but it's not too bad. I have really enjoyed the highway trips in my S

i will tell you something....

i have BMW 745i

But believe me,, i love to drive my S in the highways more than my 745i for many reasons:

first.. i like to drive sport car

also I think its not that much noisy if you drive with average of speed 100 - 110 MPH

if you think the S is too noisy in the highways,,, go with Hardtop... my friend has Mugen Hard top.. he is really happy from the result... he is saying that the noise is almost gone with the Hardtop.

For some reason, I love driving my S on the highways. I find it supportive, comfortable, and just zippy. I love it! I've driven 6 hours straight in the S and loved it. Oh, even better when the top was down.

Question: what's it like with the top down at typical highway speeds (75+)?

^ Depending on the wind conditions, but normally, it's slightly windy inside the cabin, but very slightly. I love driving top down on freeways on long trips. It makes the trip MUCH less tiring. And I find the seats to be very supportive for my back.
