How to accelerate smoothly?
I apologize in advance for my Noob question.
Can anyone give me any tips on how to accelerate smoothly when in 1st or 2nd gear? For example, if I'm in 2nd gear and driving a steady 20mph, how do I get on the gas and not have the car buck once before accelerating?
Is this just a feature of the car? Is my throttle cable too tight?
After more than 15k miles, I still can't accelerate smoothly

our cars hate low RPMs.. the bucking is pretty normal. If I'm driving at low rpm and I don't want to downshift, I put clutch in, blip the throttle, and slip the clutch back out quickly

Just be smooth with the throttle application. Yes, there are issues w/ heat bog that cause bucking and might make it difficult to accelerate from 2-3mph when you car is extremely hot, but accelerating from 20mph in 2nd gear should not be an issue.

Thanks. Useless Honda dealer said that my car's fine, but I'm starting to not believe them.
I know about our car's issue with low rpm and heat bog...but my acceleration stumble can happen at 3k rpm in 2nd gear, no traffic, and 60 degree weather.

constant increasing pressure, even if very, very slowly. and if you're low in the rpm range, start on the gas lightly and smoothly. if you give a little gas, let up, then get on it again in low gears you start bucking. at least that's what i've noticed.
edit: and yeah, 3k does seem a bit high to be having any bucking problems!
