In case you haven't heard, we are getting dumped on by a quick forming Tropical Storm that is now a depression circulating directly over Houston.

Some areas have received over 15" today alone. My house has registered close to 28" over the last 3 days.

If you ever find yourself in this situation, don't ever drive your car into a water covered road. Our TV news have been broadcasting live since 10pm and they keep showing this Civic floating in about 9 feet of water. They have so much footage of people trying to go through that it's not even funny.

Wish us Houstooks luck!

All I have to say is that on the drive home from work this week, the Michelin Pilot Sports RULE!!!!

There were no signs of hydroplaning whatsoever through some torrential downpours. Oh, how I remember the OEM rears after 3k miles. Driving through the rain on my semi-worn OEM's felt like my rear-end was going side-to-side while the front tracked a perfect line.

All we've seen of Allison is a cloudy, for the most part, rainless edge. So far all she's brought me is a few drops of rain to spoil a totally top-down day and a flat tire (not her fault, really).

The rain seems to have stopped and the flooded areas are draining now. We're hoping that Allison doesn't strengthen again and make an encore appearance, now that it's in the Gulf.

Throughout the last few days, the local news has provided 24 hour coverage televising the never ending rescue efforts. Here are some pictures of the damage done by Allison. Please include these people who have suffered through this ordeal in your prayers. They will be living in shelters while they deal with the problems associated with getting their lives/homes put back together.

Man 'O Man!!! Was this fun!! I was helping John with his car (look for his thread to follow) and was messy. I have some pictures that John is going to use in his "story" so keep an eye out for them. Nice coverage Joe!!

Picture of my apartment complex from my patio:

When I got home at 12:00 AM there was no water. At 2:00 AM I took this picture, many people were asleep and had no idea what was going on.

Luckily my car was next door at the dealership, which didn't flood...much. My car would bee ruined if it were out there.

(Actually, I have an attached garage that the car would have been in if it were home, it stayed dry...but that's not as dramatic)
