I had mine done when I bought it, they threw it in with the alarm. Trust me, you do not want this thing!!!! It is worthless and a piece of junk. You're much better off waxing it. It will not protect your car against anything, and it looks like crap on your car, especially if you have black like I do. Only thing I'm happy for is that I didn't pay for it.

If it is such a great "must have" for paint protection, how come no manufacturer in the world uses it? If it sounds to good to be true it is almost always a scam.

At it's best it is "wishful thinking." At its worst, it is fraud.

Once consolation. It is not as bad as dealer added undercoating which actually degrades the car by adding weight and blocking the manufacturer's drain holes.

Its not as bad as pinstriping. Afterall it lightens you wallet without causing any permanent degredation to your car.

My dealer wanted $690 (US) for paint and interior treatment. Lots of money for a wax job and a can of Scotch Gard. I didn't pay for it.

So what is Stongaurd - Does it protect against chips?

As for the Teflon coating - I just want to thank you all. It seems pretty unaminous - I shall avoid it.

Stongard protects against chips.

It is a 3M plastic designed to protect the leading edge of airplane props.

Stongard makes pieces designed to protect the S2000. It costs about $500 PLUS INSTALLATION and installation is no shade tree task. Speed 2000, Dave of Georgia, a member of this board sells and installs it.

Check out http://www.stongard.com and

http://www.stongardgeorgia.com for Speed 2000's page.
