I was planning on buying a new 2005 s2000 this month, but, after going to the Honda website, I was reading the current news and the last paragraph about the Odyssey minivan states:

In addition, all 2006 Honda vehicles, including the Odyssey, will carry a new 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, extended from the previous 3-years/36,000-miles.

So now I hope my 2006 Suzuka Blue s2000 will be here in early October.

Nope. You should read the fine print of your contract. You're an exception, not the rule.
I disagree. For everyone who posts on here about their problems getting HC service, I bet there's a score of other drivers in S2ks who don't frequent this sight who've had no problems with HC. S2ki is not exactly a clean cross-section of S owners. The vast majority of people on here mod their cars pretty heavily. Mine is minimally modded (granted, this helps explain my lack of issues with HC) but I seem to be the exception in that part, not the rule. As for HC, I say this. If you plan on modding your ride signifigantly, don't buy it, you're wasting your money. If you don't plan on doing too much modding, it can more than pay for itself, as it has in my case.

I believe that mbilderback is correct here. If it is just a contract, they cannot "represent" it to be a warranty if it is not. I know in my situation, they advertised it as "an extended warranty." I am not sure about the specifics of the Magnusson-Moss Act, I will look it up later in my UCC Law book. I believe that it does apply to all warranty situations.

If Honda Care does decide to screw you over, you have other remedies under law other than Magnusson-Moss. The UCC is designed to protect consumers. You have protection under breach of express warranty as well as breach of implied warranty. Not to mention if you took it to court, NO judge would up hold that a mod UNRELATED to the damage could cause the voiding of the warrranty for unrelated parts. HondaCare will take care of you prior to suit (most likely), because they do not want a precendent to be set.
