Default HondaCare Doesn't Cover Rentals?

I dropped my car off last Tuesday for a noise. It was later diagnosed as the transmission output bearing. That was after they diagnosed it as the input bearing on the differential and spent a day and a half getting those parts and starting to replace them.

So I got a rental car because I was told by my service writer at the dealership that a rental would be covered under my HondaCare Warranty (the car is a Certified Used Car). Now, it's a week later and the car isn't done yet (I was told tomorrow). I have had the rental car the entire week.

The policy said it covers 4 days worth of rental @ $35/day, and the dealership said they'd step up and cover whatever other days they have the car because I bought the car from them.

So I just got off the phone with my service writer and he's telling me that "my" HondaCare policy doesn't cover rentals. Are there multiple types of HondaCare Warranties? I am hoping (and assuming) that the dealership will step up and do the right thing and pay for my rental. Because I would not have kept it over the weekend or probably most of the week had I known it wouldn't be covered.

Just curious if anyone has heard of this?

All that said, the dealership has been very good at handling this and keeping me informed, but I am a little confused about this whole thing about my HondaCare policy.
