I'd skip the Exige. With the money saved, you could buy a far better wheel, suspension and safety setup and still have money leftover with which you could get real close on the aero side. Unless they get around to shipping an Exige with the extra power that it's calling out for. Then all bets are off.
Also, I plan to rent an Elise for a track day this summer, and that will help me figure out what I really want.
(Another option is to buy a nice S2K for the street and strip/cage/mod the one I have now. I want an S2K for a street car, so the question is what I end up doing for a dedicated track car.)

Anyone else think most sales guys have the most awful way with customers?(esp those I've met at Honda). They either have a pole up their own arse or because I (not boasting now here folks!) have cash but am under 30 they look at me as if I am daft? Plus because I'm female I obviously won't understand a single thing about cars! ARGHHHHH!

does anyone else think the elise looks like an ugly reptile?
if you're into the elise, go ultimate and get the ariel atom. neither is a REAL car, but rather an awesome rush.
another competitor:

only 75,000.

[QUOTE=Wildess,Apr 4 2006, 10:43 AM]Hi all!
This is my first posting. Needing some advice here folks. Looking of getting a nice wee sporty number as a second car. Want to buy something that a)looks good (well I am a woman after all), b)allows for wind blowing through my hair and c) (very important) it runs like a demon with fire up its ass.
So, after a few test drives (Porshe Boxter= crap!, vx220T= it's a Vauxhall! and a TVR =ok so just for fun!) I have narrowed it down to either the Honda S2000 or a Lotus. So thoughts please!
Like the tweaks on the 06 model. Had a test drive and doesn't roll to buggery. Quite elegant yet masculine too when on the road.

Lotus Elise Cons: Harsh ride, raw, not practical, 'tin-can' vibe, poor build quality..etc..etc...
Lotus Pros: Fun factor. Great dedicated track toy. Aesthetics. Good mpg (for what it is)
S2K Cons: Not as raw as Elise.
S2K Pros: Practicality, Comfort, Style, build quality, reliability. Countless amount of aftermarket parts to improve looks and performance to rival the Lotus (if thats what you're into)..
Just to name a few... Its not a hard decision really. I would only get the Exige only if I wanted my second car only as a track toy.
