As for "The S2K was built to commemorate Honda's 50th Anniversary"; When was the first year the S360 came out? Why is that Japan has the 1999 model S2000, and we have the 2000 model year?

So, What happened in 1949? Or is it in 1950? I can't find anything on it? I thought Honda started his motorcycle in 1946? The first Honda car ever build was in 1959? Anyone? What happend in 1949 or 1950? Or they just skipped few years.

 

Well, one of the above links says they incorporated in 1948. When was the official intro of the S2000 in Japan? If there was a 1999 model year there, did they do a big introduction in 1998?

Edit: The same link I saw that in lists their 50th Anniversary as taking place in 1998. So, I would assume that explains it.
