Honda S2000 - How's the VTEC kick?
#1
I just test drove a Prelude SH. The VTEC pull is all right. Makes some noise, but I wasn't all that impressed.
I heard that the Type R and the S2000 have very similar VTEC characteristics. Is this true? Or is it very different? I prefer the snarl over the common vroom.
Right now, I'm narrowing down my choices for my next car. S2000 and Type R are the two top ones. I need to have VTEC and these two offer the most for the dollar.
Note: About the insurance... geicodirect was the most competitive. Thanks for the member who recommended them.

Well do you want the best sports car Honda has ever produced? Or just a upgraded version of some other car out there.
Plus its a convertable! Thats the biggest thing for me. The sports car thing is definitly next in line. Hell if you want get the HKS exhaust you really will hear VTEC.
As for the kick? Its dramatic.

The loudest most pronounced VTEC I have been in is by far the del Sol B16a VTEC. I base this on ownership of an S2000, del sol VTEC, my brothers 97 Prelude VTEC, friends Type R and GSR integra.
