Agree. The S2000 was definitely a unicorn out of a Honda factory, I will be shocked if we ever see them produce such a driving gem in the future. I had a 2012 Si for 6 years, and though it was fun to drive and I loved the gearbox/shifter, it never came close to touching the driving experience of my AP1 S2000.

My 2012 Si makes a great daily esp in the snow.
S2000 does not and is way more fun to drive.
These cars are in two completely different categories.

Road & Track (among others) is struggling as there are fewer and fewer new cars coming out worthy of their coverage. That's due in large part to the fact that there are fewer and fewer new "cars". Their coverage in turn is being pointed more frequently at older cars. I've got nothing against that, but traditionally that hasn't been R&T's focus and not likely what their core readership is looking for. I don't think Road & Track itself will last more than just a few years.

Most depressing moment was our annual Toronto auto show trip a few years back. We spent 85% looking at suvs. I wanted to hang myself lol.
