It definitely is no where close to an exotic on any level.

Rare doesn't make it an exotic. As much as I love my s, the 458 is in a whole other league of vehicle. Think about how rare a Ford Pinto is nowadays. I don't think the words "Pinto" and "exotic" have been in the same sentence till now.

Way out of context. Read the post and response.

There is nothing exotic about a Honda...the NSX is close but it's still a Honda and it's hard to take a car seriously from a company that makes a crapload of econo boxes. If Ferrari also made $20,000 econo cars it would degrade their status as well.
What defines exotic? rare?

Rare, high-end (hand built), limited production, not realistically attainable by the middle class consumer, you will not find used exotics on dealer lots next to econo cars.

if the price was much higher and the badge was different, leaving everything else the same, you could make the argument that it's an exotic. the stupidity that is humanity.

The larger the engine the more difficult it is to create more HP/Liter.

600cc sport bike engines have been creating 150hp/Liter 10 years before the S2000 was designed.

Ten years before it was designed? So lets see. So the design process began somewheres around 96? Lets say. That would mean the 1986 CBR 1000F would be where you'd point your attention. It made 180hp at the crank. So I can see kinda why you'd bring it up.
But its an apples and oranges comparison. When talking car chassis and engine development meant to coexist together.
