Honda Extended Warranty
I didn't get extended warranty when the car was purchased, but i got a letter from my dealer ask if i want to get one.
There are a few options that i can choose from, and I think the best option for me would be 6year/100000km (60k miles) for around 800 CDN (640 USD).
Do you guys think it worth the money?
Thanks

Buy it. You can always cacel for a pro-rated refund. If you sell your car your customer will have comfort in buying a car with a warranty and you should get more for the car. $ 900 in repairs can get chewed up quick.

I bought the 7 yr/100K miles HondaCare warranty in early '00 b/c my car would not be a GQ
I shopped a few dealers via email; got the best price ($1000~) from a dlr over 100 mi away....no difference.
It's definitely paid for itself at least 2X due to some engine probs that I had after the 3 yr wty expired. Mine now has +62,000 miles
I also agree that the ability to Xfr to a subsequent owner should help at re-sale time.

I"I've had a couple of things covered on my Honda Care policy on my '01 Odyssey. One of them was discovered by the dealer during a routine maintenance cycle and not something I complained about so I guess they've done me Ok so far.
Having said that, the one thing that Honda has been consistent with me about when it comes to warranty claims is they always seem to start out with telling me "why" Honda might not cover something. It's very annoying, especially when I know I've got a valid claim. Mind you, Honda has never refused a warranty claim for me but they always bring it up and it ticks me off when they do. I've never been treated that way by any other manufacturer.
Because of that, I went with an aftermarket warranty company on my S2000. It's Warranty Direct and I found out about them though Car Buying Tips. Just follow the link under extended warranties. The recommend Warranty Direct and 1 Source Warranty. At least on paper, Warranty Direct had better coverage and better pricing so I chose them. My S2000 is still to new to use the extended coverage so I can't say how good they'll be. Hopefully I'll never find out.
Best of luck,
Steve R.

I'm not a wrench, and even though I can do some of the routine stuff myself, I need someone to rely on in case of serious trouble. That said, I do not trust the local dealership here, and I have found a highly-regarded mechanic who specializes in Hondas and is known by several members in the New England area.
Thus, an extended warrantee is useless to me. And, to Steve's point, would Honda just try to brush me off anyway with the extended warrantee and tell me that I've abused my precious S by hitting an occasional redline?
I don't like Honda's attitude, and I'm relieved to have found someone I can trust outside the dealership net.
