I work at a Honda dealer in Canada as a tech, usually in situation like this, stop dealing with the dealership for now !!! leave the car with them, and call CR (customer relation) or DSM (district service manager), tell them exactly what happened, tell them which dealership you are dealing with, make sure CR or the DSM opens a file for you, and ask for the name of the person that you are talking to...etc...

If that person can authorize the repair under warranty at this point, great !!! make sure the dealersip gets to talk to this person, and remember to ask for a authorization number/reference number, this way you know you have a file with Honda, and if anything goes wrong, you can always track back........

But if they want to send some body down to inspect that car first, could be DSM, Rep. , Honda Training Instructor, Engineer....and I am only saying usually, USUALLY they will buy your story, and fix it under warranty to make another happy Honda customer....

Good Luck, hope u will get it...

Definitely call Honda directly. I don't think you'll make any progress with the dealer given the status quo. I wish you luck.

I am pretty calm just a little distraught....

They are gonna tear down the motor tommorow...
And then call me what the tech discovers....

the tech had the nerve to tell me that he has seen this in a GSR before and it was from over-reving....I was like whatever....

anyways...who should i call CR or DSM...anyone have the CR number...let me know...

what do i ask CR to do...or what should i tell them.....

Not really know too much about YOU, the owner. We as a group here have more or less given you the high road path here. Even a guy that works at Honda tells you to STOP dealing with the dealership and contact Customer Relations HONDA.

I would assume you've dealt with people on a professional level before. State your case CALMLY, Point form and see what comes back. You want to focus on the points you've brought up here and see.

Don't delay on this, make notes and take names. It appears CS line is going to be your only help here.

Thank you...and your right I should deal with CR which I am tommorow morning. Its alittle frustrating for the techs to automatically assume without taking off the head that its due to over rev.

Thank you for ur support and any other input would surely be appreciated....

Well i called honda...and I got a case #....I went to the dealership today and the motor is gone...the cylinder head is not salvagable and neither is the block....the cylinder the spark plug broke bc of the broken valve stem and damaged the piston........

its not in the Honda Rep's hands to determine if they are gonna cover it.....

Then whose hands is it in? Why won't they cover it?

That sucks. There's no question here that Honda needs to cover this for you. It's typical they want to weasel out of it, but you just need to be persistent and forward with them to get what you want.

Hell, worst case scenario is you just sue the hell out of them and get them to pay for everything.

Yeah well the dealership told me that they are waiting the Honda rep's approval and then go from there.

Thank God I have a warranty but i will be upset and fight that my motor be replaced....
