Mine didn't use any for my first couple of fill ups but then once in an extremely short period, 300-500 miles it went through nearly a quart but hasn't burned a drop since, now at 2,600 miles.

Anyone got any real stats on usage?

i got my car in dec '02 and now have about 2500 miles on it. i was warned repeatedly by the dealer regarding oil consumption, but so far I haven't used any oil to speak of... my dipstick is maybe off an eighth of a quart or less from new.
i vtec fairly often, but did not start vtec'ng until around 800 miles.
anyway this has been my experience so far... i'm actually pleasantly surprised.

If I've been driving the car hard, I'll wait about 1/2 hour and then check the oil. Waiting allows the oil to find its way back to the oil pan. I would check the oil more often for the first 5,000 miles. And don't run the over 5,500 RPMs for the first 600 miles, that's the break-in period for our VTEC engines.
Here's what Honda says about consumption, it's from last fall. This is a copy of a Service Bulletin sent out to the dealerships and was posted to the FAQs page.

There is a lot of good info on the FAQ page, check it out !
