Does anyone use this intake kit ? Does it really give 7 "real" BHP increase ?

I talked to the guys at TDI and they say it's being dyno's at 7bhp.

Although it is 600GBP do you think that it is worth it?

Of course I am always a skeptic.. but this is the same shop selling (on the same page) an oil cooler for the S2000 even though there is already one designed into the car. We have yet to see repeatable dyno gains (beyond the fluctuation attributable to testing procedure) with intake changes or any evidence that oil temps climb too high with the stock setup. I'd like to see the charts.

Where does it sucks air from - inside or outside? The photo isn't very clear, but it looks like it's getting air from the engine bay. Not good.

I see you can also get an HKS "Speed Limit Defencer". Does that mean you Euro guys are really limited to 112mph/180kmh?

It sucks it in from the front of the car, not exactly a CAI but kind of a cross between one and a normal induction kit.

I dont trust any of the claimed power gains for the s2000 for any product Ive seen, except the Supercharger!

Sure looks like it sucks from the bay. Plus the pipe...."aluminium pipework". Not good at holding back heat!

1Y2KS2K,

The 180kph is a japanese limitation, as far as i know, in japan all cars are limited to 180kph AND a car can't output more than 280BHP.

As the japanese and english cars are RHD, you find a lot of "japanese" imports in UK, like Subaru Impreza, Skyline or Mitsubishi EVO, maybe also S2K They called these kind of car : "grey" car.

So the UK guys need to remove the limiter of grey cars....

And I so belive that 280hp Skyline, Rx-7, Silva, should I go on? The Japanese are funny like that, all those cars easily make more than advertised hp, kinda' like a backwards 60's muscle car era over here.

In my experience, I think the form filter elements like Greddy and HKS are the most free flowing. I have compared them with K&N filters and the throttle response is much better. I tend to think the form type without the oil added is better. For example the comptech or ITG filters need to have an oil added.
