HKS exhaust notes mellow out over time

I was in on the Mingster Nuespeed buy. (Great deal BTW Mingster, I just saw a set go on eBay for $560 +shipping, etc.)
Anyway, my set is definitely more mellow w/a couple thousand miles on it...Nothing to do with getting used to it.
I have experienced the same thing w/aftermarket bike exhausts, it's like the packing gets "fluffed" or something.
That said, after the Nuespeed and the RM cold air intake the car sets off my Prelude alarm every time I start it. (in an underground garage, side-by-side)
It does sound great at redline though =)
