Mingster,

Are you saying that you did'nt buy a Neuspeed exhaust during the group buy that you ran??? If so, can I ask why? As you know, we are involved in the bumper melting issue with Neuspeed. I'm curious to know how many people have Neuspeed exhausts and if all of those people have had the melting issue...

I saw a website posting wholesale prices for the HKS Hiper Exhaust. They have it listed at US$956.00. I got mine for 950.00 shipped. Let me know if i got a good deal.

Swurvydel,

$950 shipped...that's a pretty good deal to me. That's why I am asking where you ordered it from bro.

Where did you order it from?

Unicron

Eastcoast Motorsports in Harrison, NJ
- I got that price mainly because of it being me. My friends alone can keep that place in business. If you want to contact them and ask them on a price the number is 973-485-6900. If you want though i think you can get a better price if you come in with me. I posted that the price includes installation...well that was a mistake it doesn't but i know a guy who will do it for me for free. Email me at swurvydel@aol.com if you want more info.

I think you're probably just getting used to the sound. If anything, exhaust systems usually get louder over time because the noise deadening mesh burns off. It may be mellower, but if you measured the sound, it's probably louder.

We still sell the HKS at $845.00 plus shipping(not as good as our first Group Buy $750.00 but still a good price).
Our exhaust will be introduced very soon also;
Headers and exhaust package will be approx.$1.500.00

I don't know if the HKS 'mellows' over time, but my understanding is that ALL exhausts (well, ones that have mufflers, anyway) will break in as the packing in the mufflers will settle and create a different sound over the course of the breaking in period.

Anyone have experience with this?

gregstevens,

You are right on the dot on the subject. I have had many exhausts on my previous cars. Time will cause the sound dettering material inside the exhaust to change shape.

Some exhaust will become deeper and quieter, others will become higher pitch and louder...it's hard to predict these things.

Example:

Ever notice after a long drive...your exhaust sounds different? That's because the heat made the exhaust piping expand, and now you have a different harmonic resonance.

Another example:

My DC sports exhaust sound deterring material on my 95 Accord started to deteriorate after 3 years...and the exhaust was raspy and it sounded like crap!
