HKS exhaust differences

HKS exhaust differences
So I found someone who is going to sell me there HKS exhaust I asked him if it was the high power and he said he wasn't sure, so my question is what is the difference between the two HKS exhausts, does one sound different from the other or does one look different from the other?
On a side note I just ordered a test pipe as well and wanted someone to chime in that has a test pipe and an HKS exhaust. Hopefully someone who had the exhaust and then put the test pipe on. What kind of difference in exhaust note did putting the test pipeon make? Thanks in advance

I've got the HKS w/ Megan test pipe. I bought the test pipe a month after I installed the exhaust so I experienced them both.
Before test pipe: Boomy, deep sound low in RPM band. That signature hollow, rasp (in a good way) was only present between 3-4500K RPM. I was acutally a bit disappointed because that's what I love about the exhaust. Some drone. After V-TEC, mostly engine noise.
After: Just what I was looking for. Still bassy/boomy down low, but the hollow rasp is pretty much there whenever you want it prior to V-TEC. Just modulate the throttle. No drone. After V-TEC, still mostly engine noise.
Overall, I love the exhaust. For the first time with this car I can acutally say that I am 100% satisfied with one of my mods. I'll never get rid of it. A couple of years ago I wanted the loudest, most efficient exhaust out there. This one fits my needs perfectly now as its not too loud and has an exotic note. Also worth noting that I've got an AEM V2.

Thank you for your review, that is exactly what I was looking for. Now I just need to know if the differences between the two hiper and high power.

I think the older exhaust is also made with powder coated steel tubing, NOT stainless steel.
There were lots of stories on the UK board about the early HKS exhausts rusting out.
I'm wait for a full stainless steel version myself, and passed up a couple of others I saw for sale.

I installed my HKS cat-back a few months after buying my car summer '05. Put the testpipe on a few months later... here is my review:
