First off, these are shrunk 50%.. to see the full ones... Click Here http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?...76810&a=9809833

So here goes. I drove the car to the shop and it got on the dyno, fairly quickly, so the car was definately warm. I ran the HKS 3 times (runs 001-003) then they swapped out the exhaust which allowed the car to cool, so the first stock run was way higher than the hks, but I ran in 3 times, each time geting somewhat lower outputs (runs 004-006),
then they swapped the hks back on, which alloed the car to cool some. So I decided to run the HKS again (run 007) which gave much better results.

So here are the plots.

First off, all 4 HKS runs.

Then the 3 stock runs w/ the best HKS run on it. (a bit crowded)

And here is the best stock run compared to the best HKS. They are pretty equal, but the hks is ~1-2 hp higher all the way up the chart until near the top. (look at the higher res one and it is easier to see)

And here is the same plot, but with the colors reversed

So there you all have it.

Hey, thanks for the unbiased, scientific test results. Your car has a good dyno output regardless of exhaust system.

Thanks for doing that.

It looks to me like pretty much six of one half a dozen of the other....

Are these differences within the expected error, as the pollsters stay.

How many runs would you have to run to get a difference signifcant at the 95% level of confidence? Quite a few when the pilot study shows no dramatic difference.

Thanks Randy!

And Barry: I wasn't suprised with the results. Honda didn't leave much on the table in the exhuast from the cat back. I bought the HKS for the tone, and man what a beautiful tone it is, and the price. There are other options out there with no, or equally similar performance gains for a lot more money.

I am still very happy with my decision to get the HKS.

Just helping the rest of you make up your minds too.

All take notice of that big red thing infront of the car. That is a big fan which is exactly what I wanted to see blowing on the car! That makes sure that the car gets fresh air into the intake and not heat up to much in the engine bay.

Thumbs up guys! Those are results I think we can trust. Couple HP and FP NO LOSS!

I see you encouter the same problem I did. Loss of power as you do more runs. Wonder the effect of the Mugen or Spoon ECU on this issue.

Your results are exactly what I expected but everyone should remember that mods are like building blocks. In order to realize the full potential of other mods these have to work together.

Anyway, thanks for the info and the hard work.

Thanks for the results!

The HKS resonator puts the center of gravity lower than the stock, and more forward, for what it's worth for the suspension tuners.

240 at the crank. ~200 at the wheels. 20% loss in the drivetrain is about right.
