HKS or Apexi?

HKS or Apexi?
Posted this in Car talk but had no replies yet, it might be better in here...
Need a little help here guys, I recked my S a week ago due to a peice of crap on the road and my insurance is covering it. Broke most of the rear suspension and rear axle along with the whole passenger side rear rim/rotor/brake/tire which came flying off. It's sitting at the shop as I'm writing this, it's waiting for parts that are ordered from Honda seeing that they never stock S2k parts. Anyhow, my Tanabe exhaust system is also scratched on the bottom of the tips and canister from the accident and my insurance company is gonna replace the whole cat back seeing that they can't find just the canister and elbow that connects to the rest of the exhaust system. Now the guy at the shop told me that I can upgrade my exhaust if I want, I just need to add the difference between the new one versus the old one. Honestly my Tanabe isn't all that bad, it's just simple scratches but I want it replaced and they have no other choice but to get a brand new cat back. I have two options, first one is the HKS hi-power exhaust system and the 2nd option is the single Apexi GT, which is better in performance? I know that the Apexi GT is alot louder at higher rpm, the HKS one sounds a bit better but which out perform the other? Any help would be great, I'm looking to upgrade asap so please help guys. Thanks...

Thanks for the reply, I personally like the sound of the Hks one better but then I do like the bigger tip on the apexi seeing that it's a single exhaust system. I got 'til tomorrow afternoon for the insurance peeps to call me on the replacement of my exhaust, after that then it's time to shop for a exhaust. Hks it will be unless I get more replies stating that the Hks one isn't all that it's cracked up to be, thanks again...

I had the apexi on my first S (it was there from the previous owner). I can't speak to the power gains since I never drove that car with a stock exhaust, but it did sound great. Just loud enough, just deep enough. I liked it a lot.
