Was racing my friend in his GT-S. Caught up in the excitement I forgot to shift out of second. I had 660 miles at the time. Did I **** up my engine?

By the way, I pulled HARD on his ass. HEH HEH

I wouldn't worry about it. I've done it plenty of times, and the limiter is there to prevent damage to your engine.

No. You are fine. Hitting the limiter does not void your warranty no matter how many times you do it

No big deal at all ... in thery you can bounce of the rev limiter all day long. It's simly retarding the fuel into the engine.

When you go on a track, a lot of people bounce of the rev limiter in situations when the 2nd gear is just a tad too short but it's pointless shifting to 3rd.

I did the same thing while passing a car, I thought the boost was retarding my timing so i kept my foot in it. It must have bounced off the limiter about 5 times before i looked down at the speedo and tach and noticed i was at 73MPH in 2nd.

I've done this several times also that's why I'll be installing a shiftlight in my car soon. No flames please...its not gonna be one of those big tacky (ricey) things that go on the dash. I'm working on a shiftlignt comprised of a single LED mounted in the trim near the sun visor. It should turn out to be very useful in everyday driving as well as racing.

SpaceNeedle,

Alright...I didn't realize you picked up your S2000!

Good job!

Don't worry about the limiter...it's there for a reason.

It's a big no no to shift from say 3rd gear to second gear by accident when you are redlining 3rd gear. A couple s2000 folks blew their engine that way. I did it by accident 2-3 times...luckily, I pushed in the clutch damn fast to save my engine.

Quick Reply: Hit rev limiter four times in a row in 2nd gear.
