i still don't know how those damn semi truck tire retreads are considered legal and safe... you see them scattered around the highway all the time around here. i did run over one myself back in 2004 in my Si but luckily i hadn't lowered it yet so i just had some very minor underbody damage (fender liner).

best of luck getting it fixed!

Ouch, but luckily you are alright. If your insurance deductible is low, comprehensive should take care of it. You can even get a new paint job on your lip and bumper at the time!!

Sorry to hear this man - after I put on my nose, on the way to the Dragon last year, I did the exact same thing! Most of it buffed out.

Just start making a list and we can compare notes - so far I've hit:
- tire carcass
- lumber
- deer carcass
- pigeon (left a bloody mess btw)
- and a near miss with a shopping cart, of all things, in the highway...

God I hate those pesky blown tires scattered all over the road. I had a car in front of me kick one up and I couldn't avoid it. It left black marks that easily came off plus, having a clear bra helped a ton. Only thing I had to get some PDR on a small dent on driver side fender right near the headlamp. All fixed and looked like nothing happened.

Some of the marks should buff out easily. Good Luck

Been there myself. 6 months ago, had a mustang in front of me and fling half of a semi tire at my car. Front bumper and lip were hanging off the car on the passenger side. Ripped out half the mounting holes that mounts the lip and front bumper on the underside. The whole bumper/lip had paint cracks throughout the bumper. Turned in the bumper and lip to get fixed, repainted and clear bra'd. A week later hit a piece of 3"-4" metal exhaust vent u put on a water heaters or furnaces that was loose on the freeway. Cut right through my clear bra and took out small chunks of paint on my lip. At that point I gave up and just left the damage on there. I now have 2-3 nickel sized chips on my driver side lip.

Definitely could've been a lot worse. I'm looking at about 4k in damage because of a semi truck tire on the road that put me into a wall :\.

Dang, sorry to hear man. I barely missed some debris on the HWY last week. I ended up clipping it with my front right tire, It flew up in the air and hit an SRT4 that was following me too close. It doesn't look too bad, and the important thing is that ur fine.

Same thing happened to me but in a RX-7 and it was a flattened metal trash can. The bumper survived but the radiator didn't...
