i dont know who started speading the lie that the S2K cant make NA power. there are MANY was to boost the hp from this motor. lets start by talking about the areas the DONT need help:
1.) Intake assembly. the stock intake is honestly one of the best desgined pieces on the whole car. it provides the best combo of low/mid/highend power. i've had six intakes on this car and none of them provided the best hp curve as the OEM system. get a drop in filter of your choice and call it a day.
2.) exhaust manifold. some may disagree, but its hard to beat the stock header. YES power can be made from a good aftermarket header, but like the intake, its hard to get the great power curve the oem header gives you. save you $ for a mugen/j's/amuse/ASM/BERK/Megan/ricks. headers make more power on FI setups too, so remember that.
now, lets talk hp. here are the areas THAT NEED HELP:
1.) exhaust system. the factory system is also very good, but not good enough. single exhuasts will always make more power than dual on the s2000. 60mm diameter is great for mid/low end hp/tq/ 70mm systems are GREAT for top and power. we're talking 10-15RWHP gains from 70mm exhuast systems. you dont believe 15 AT THE WHEELS from exhuast then do a quick search, its been proven many times. also the s2000 loves to have the cat-converter taken out. there is alot of back pressure cause by the cat. i saw 6whp from a test pipe alone.
2.) OEM ECU. the s2k is tuned very well for a production car. but not good enough. the s2000 runs pig rich. getting a EMS/Emanage/VAFC. do a search on VAFC and you'll see the gains. up to 13RWHP peak and sometimes 18RWHP between 8 and 9k.
if you wonder over to the JDM section and see the thread "i want 230rwhp na" you'll find that there are more than a few guys in the 220+ range with not to many bolt ons. couple guys are the on STOCK EXHAUST. best of luck to ya.

Everyone that thinks that this car cannot make N/A power are the people that have been around for years and have seen people try all the Comptech exhausts and the bogus JDM ECUs and DC sports headers because that's all that was really available in 2002.
Yes, that crap doesn't make any power. But, if you don't keep up with the times and haven't learned about what's in the present, you shouldn't comment and discourage people from making wise N/A options that make power. I really wish I would've dyno'd before I started parting my car out so I could have posted a big "I told you so" to everyone. My car was just as quick as a supercharged S2000.

Lets do some math --
Stock Honda S2000 engine - 240hp.
Most agreed upon % of parasitic lost of any RWD transmission - 15%
240 x .15 = 36hp loss to parasitic drivetrain loss.
240-36 = 204hp
That's exactly what S2000s make at the wheel hp. I'm not sure why you think 40hp is such a big loss.
