Default Highest Mileage on Original Clutch

Just curious... i noticed on this board that the stock clutch sucks...

I want to know the highest mileage anyone has in there S2, and still have the stock clutch.

And to to get more, info what is the earliest anybody wore out their stock clutch?

I got 50K out of mine, and it was still running beautifully before I upgraded a few months ago to sturdier PP and lighter flywheel.

A 3-star general! May I ask what you went with? I like to plan ahead.

^ Well, it definitely has a stiffer feel than the stock clutch, and is accordingly a little more of a workout for the left foot. That being said, if you've driven a 5 spd Mustang before (and I think you've driven 1 or 2, right?), it'll still feel "like butta" to you.

Hey! You copied me! I had that setup until they replaced the short block. I went back to the stock clutch/pp setup since both components were hotspotted beyond repair. The typical buzzing is starting to be more pronounced already after 18k miles. I will probably go back to the ACT/Toda setup once more.

Miles don't mean anything.. it is number of starts and number of shifts. If you stay on the highway there is little wear, while city driving requires a lot of use.

It'll be interesting to see how the '04s' new carbon synchros hold up.

I'm wondering about the possibility of a clutch/gear retrofit into '00-'03 models...
