Default High Revs? Help URGENT

I was just thinking of buying this S2K recently, but as I was driving it, the revs seemed to be pertinently high, cruising around the 100kmh, 60 mph range around 3.5-4k rpm.

I would just like to know how normal is this (this was in 6th gear) ... or is it meant to be in 5th gear?

Thanks -

That's where it should be.

60 mph shouldn't be 4k rpms in 6th. 75 (+/- 1) mph is 4k in 6th.

..116 mph is 9k in 4th.
In 5th it's probably about 7k, and in 6th it's probably about 6k.

Right... which would put 60mph around 3.5k (actually closer to 3.2)

Don't know if this helps you at all, but here are the top speeds through the gears...

1 = 42.5
2 = 65.8
3 = 90
4 = 116
5 = 138.7
6 = 166.05

ok, maybe I read the tacho wrongly ... must check again Thanks alot anyway ... btw, what kind of gas you guys got over in the states? The highest we got down under in Aussie is about 98 PULP RON ... the normal Premium ULP is about 95-96 RON ... any comments on whether the higher octane one actually helps?

Use 93 or 94 octane. Using higher could damage the 02 sensors.

There are different methods of determining an octane rating. I'm not sure we use the same rating system here in the states. Any international owners care to share what their owner's manual recommends?

Oh by the way... I will also tell to that 75MPH in 5th gear in my civic is about a grand less on the tach than 75MPH in the S in 6th gear!
