high beams w/ headlights off
why do the xenons come on when you flash your highbeams? i mean if you want to pass someone or get someones attention in the daylight , the xenons will turn on and off with the high beam flash. from what i understand that's bad for the xenons
wire would they wire it this way?

Hey, whaddaya know, WPS is right; the signal lever flashes both beams. One thing though, you don't get the bright flash like you do when you turn the lights on with the switch.

"High" beams almost always incorporate all the illuminating lights a car has on the front. When you "flash", you are activating the high beam circuit. If you were to hold the lever longer, you would allow the HIDs to fully light up just like if you were to turn the headlites ON. I don't know if "flashing" the brights is harmful to the HIDs.
