HID Replacement

4300K (OEM) = Brightest, but it's also fairly yellowish.
5000K = A balance of more white, less yellow.
6000K = Most acceptable white, anything above is pointless.
I would disconnect the battery for novice non mechanical owners attempting a DIY. Also, you don't require a special tool to remove the "special" screw, as mentioned, a pair of pliers will do the same thing without any problems.
The hardest part is to remove the screw on weather/protection cover, that'd require a fair bit of strength.
When refitting a new HID bulb, secure the bulb down first, then connect the ignitors. Otherwise, you will struggle to get anywhere.
Don't attempt to fit D2R bulbs, it might work, but the beam dispersion is wrong as D2R has an additional reflector in place for non projector headlights. Our cars uses D2S only.

stick with philips bulbs,....either stock 85122(stock), 85122+(they dont color shift to a bluer light like the stock bulbs), philips CM(colormatch, 5000k color,..it is basically a bulb developed to have the "colorshift" look already, so people dont have to replace BOTH bulbs when one goes,.....currently what i have) or the philips ultinon 6000k,....which i want to try next since i want a tad more color. so you should try those first.

What is the bulb used for highbeam, is a 4000k silverstar bulb good?
I'm running 6000K for my low beams right now and it's perfect, and still lights up the road much brighter than most cars on the road.
