HID lights

The projector HID systems are designed to light up the road while not blinding oncoming drivers with wide dispersion like on non-projector systems. The left sides of the beam will be clipped to prevent blinding oncoming drivers.

I had an '05 Odyssey with factory lights that were far superior to those of any vehicle I've ever had. Being a bit of a fanatic about night vision, it was one of the few vehicles I've had that I did not put after market lights in.
My '05 S2K is totally at the other end of the scale. For a high performance vehicle like ours, you would think that the lighting standard would be at least as good as that for a family van!
Although I wouldn't swear to it, I think that the Odyssey had a halogen lamp for low beam, and HID for high beam. the halogen shone down the road further without blinding on coming traffic, and the HID had incredible range on high beam.
I would love to see an improvement here, cause it sure doesn't make sense to me to have second class lighting on an otherwise awesome vehicle........

I fitted Xenons to my high beam. Tis true, they take a few seconds to warm up.
However, the beat any halogen bulb. Compared them to my mates 130w halogens - not even close
Low and behold - the kit in it's silly box
But whats this on the back of the instruction maunal.....
Yep, BOSCH! So quality gear then
So on to installation. No mucking about, bumper off and I wanted to remove the black number plate surround anyway
After figuring out what went where with the HID kit, I removed the old bulbs when I ran into the big problem - Whilst the bulbs are indeed H1, they are placed into a holder so that they are secureable. B0LL0CKS! So I looked at carving up the holder, but it just wasnt going to work.
Then, I loked at the mechanism and realised it wouldn't take much to hold them in - just something for the spring to clamp round.
Contained within the case that protected the bulbs during transit were the big plastic spacers. Ace!
So after cutting the sides off so they didn't interfere with the spring, it was game on again!
Now the instrcutions require the connector block to be placed inside of the water seal. This requires cutting out the centre. Again, I didn't want to do this and I didn't have to - the connector block for the H1 light comes apart allowing the actual connectors to be released.
All taped up ready to go in
You can see how the spacer works now
It's sunny outside, but gives you an idea of the difference
Time for the other side and it went much more smoothly Both lights on
Thanks to having no airbox, lots of space for ballasts!
And a vid of the lights:

Wow! I never expected such a positive response from all of you, but thanks for your feedback. Since my original post, I found out how to adjust the lights, and did so a couple of days ago. My rant was based on the fact that the cutoff hit the ground not more than about 75 feet in front of the car. I raised them a few notches at a time until I got people flashing at me, then dropped them a couple of notches. Vision is much better, but maybe I just need to get used to them. I've had the car for a year (of bliss), so we'll see.
Since I have your attention, maybe one of you could tell me why my passenger's side light is slightly dimmer than the driver's side. I parked close to a wall to see how the cutoff lines compared, and put a towel over the left light. the other light was noticably dimmer.......... Any ideas?
I doubt that it is dim enough to use as a reason for my original comment.
Thanks fo ryour help.
