Smile Hiccups at 4000 rpm!

I have a problem the car stutters around 4000 -5000 rpm ! It shuts off when coming to a stop or at idle. Check engine light is on. I had a shop read the error msg & i was told it was my throttle position sensor. I need help! What could it be & how much will it cost to fix?

my guess would be your map sensor, go smack it with the handle of a screw driver.

yup, thats a map sensor prob symptom...
if you cant get it to work, your dealer should be able to easily fix it.

Hey this exact thing just happened to my jeep cherokee... it will be under $100 to fix... I had a new distributer cap, plug wires and Tps sensor for 285.. including labor.

well since the s2k has no distributor or replaceable plug wires I'd say you're experience isn't exactly applicable in this case.
