Default Here's a question for ya owners...regrading warranty replacement.

So i was talking to my dad today about me wanting a new car.

First what he wants me to do is "re-learn" how to drive a manual car.
I've driven my dad's corolla back like 2 years ago. But i think and still believe i can handle a manual car.

He told me to get a beater just incase($1,000 - $2,000 at most for beater) But anyways, I was wondering if the warranty covers the clutch? Since maybe i'll "burn" the clutch or something on the s2000 IF i get it. I told him, get the car for me, and if i mess up the clutch or the tranny in any way, the warranty will replace it. He just laughed at me haha.

I'm asking because currently i own a 98 accord with 60k miles on it. And when i bought the car, it had no warranty on it. So that's my question to all.

Warranty covers all parts of the car?

Thanks

Warranties exist to cover manufacturing defects, not owner abuse. On top of that, the clutch is considered a wear item just like brake pads. Unless the clutch wears prematurely AND has not been abused, it's not likely to be covered under warranty.

ah ok...

what are the chances of something that doesn't know how to drive a manual car wears out the clutch in a day or two?..

i know the basic..

push clutch, slowly and easily release and add gas, shift and all goes on....

Be sure to not "ride" the clutch so much. Find the engage point of the clutch and you should be ok.
The chances of you wearing out the clutch in a day or two are very slim, unless of course you go dumping the clutch at 7000 rpm every chance you get.

practice on a rental car or something before get the s2k, you don't want to learn on a $32k car.

there are some manual rentals out there, but very rare.
