Help with vtec
#12
Past posts on this topic suggest that some owners have experienced more "pronounced" vtec transition when they just broken in their cars. This got me wonder if ECU has to do anything with this apparent decrease in the "vtec kick" as our car puts more milage? I mean, maybe the ECU is "learning" the driver's driving habit and "compensates" for something (perhaps better fuel economy), resulting in less pronounced peak ? If I'm not mistaken you can "reset" the ECU to start from skratch? Has anyone tried this? Anyone got back that initial virgin vtec kick by doing so?

yeah, i think if you take off, you will most definitely feel it around 6K rpms in 2nd gear. First gear you can't really tell (at least to me), and past 2nd gear, if you are WOT, you pretty much stay in VTEC, now I could be wrong, but it's what I notice.
