HELP - Transmission, No 2nd Gear
Gentlemen,
I have browsed this site many times, casually, but now need help!
After a few minutes of very sane driving I came to a stop sign, left relatively quickly and shifted into second from about 6000rpm. The result? A hollow thunk, and now 2nd gear is non-existant, in fact there is no engagement feel in the least for 2nd. First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth are perfect, but second is just not there at all. The car drives perfectly fine otherwise with no strange noises to report. From searching I see that this is a problem other owners have had, but no description as to what actually happened. The car is an 44k mile 2001 with the 7yr/100k warranty, what can I expect from this? How common is this problem? Is there any problem with continuing to drive the car until I can get it fixed?

Hi Eric,
I feel for you, as i have a turbo S and I also have broken 3 gearboxes in 2 gear, I broke mine in the same way you did. I then got a my gear box custon made with larger and strong gears, though I have never broken a gearbox again and I mean I have launched it at 8k at the drag strip,

ERIC!? You bought an s2k and didn't tell me? Wtf, we put our turbobricks up for sale at the same time and I want and s2k and you have an s2k?! I didn't even know you were here!
