Plus, way back when Honda developed the CVCC engine and was a ground breaker in reliability, performance and mileage. No other car manufacturer has and engine that does what the S2000's does.

Sounds like you're looking for a 'status car' in which case the S2000 probably isn't the car for you. The S2000 will turn more heads and draw more attention than any of the other cars you mentioned but due to societal stereotypes doesn't have the status of a BMW or a Benz... surprising since it's probably much more reliable than either of them. I traded my S2000 in on a new BMW and I'm pretty happy... completely different cars so there is really no room for comparison but I miss alot of things about the S2000. I'm amazed at how many people use phrases like 'it's just a Honda'. They say it like it's some sort of degradation when it means quite the opposite IMO. They have 2 of the top 3 hp per litre engines in the world (S2000 and ITR) and neither of those cars climb much over the $30K range.... pretty amazing if you ask me. They have long since had a reputation of building very practical very reliable cars and that reputation has involved to include some of the most technologically advanced cars in the world without sacrificing anything they were before.

Obviously your "friends" haven't driven, researched or even have the slightest clue about this car. Their closed minded opinions mean absolutely nothing. IGNORE THEM.
Tell them to go look at the cheap flimsy interior on a BMW Z3, which, by the way is the car to compare the S2000 to. Then ask them how is it that a car company like BMW built a car with such a shi$%y interior.
The car is $32k not $36k. Ask them which new Mercedes or Jaguar model is priced at $32k that you could compare the S2000 to, and then wait for an answer.

im not bashing on the m roadster, but it doesn't have the exclusivity factor as does the s2000. there are 10 z3's for every m roadster, and thus most people can't tell the difference between the two...
