If you're a member of the AAA, try requesting a quote on the S2K you want via their website (www.aaa.com)... I did this and without realizing that it had started gears in motion, a few days later got a call from a fleet sales manager at a Southern California dealership offering me either a Silver or a Yellow at MSRP, no forced options, the Yellow arriving in 2 weeks and the Silver in 4 weeks.

One week after buying my car from that dealership (no hassle) and thinking it was a really courteous dealership (selling-price-wise), I found out they were marking up the S2K to others that were asking.

I suspect my online quote request on the AAA website had something to do with it!

I got mine (silver with red) at Thomason on 5/6 for $32900. That same day they sold 3 or 4 others. It was kind of strange because I'd made on offer on that same car at Gresham for $32700 but they wouldn't bite. But for $200 more Thomason traded a yellow one for the one at Gresham and made the deal. They hinted that I could have taken a black one (they had two at the time) for slightly below MSRP but I'd already fallen in love with the silver and red combo. The only hitch was that they didn't have a manual for it. They promise me it's on order and I'll get it very soon. I'd already been in touch with one of the Thomason internet guys and had a $32700 price quote.

Agreed.....post some pix...I am dying here. A DX with $20K in mods?!??!!? I hope that DX came out of a junkyard wrecked and needed plastic to cover up the wreckage. Time to go visit riceboypage.com; hopefully he has a pic of it!
