I paid MSRP in Southern California, of all places! I tried the Yahoo! Autos and all the other internet places... The best they advertise is MSRP, but usually in a different state. When you include transporation (Over $1000 from the East Coast, where they seem to be in less demand), and a crazy California Emissions fee that we charge down here, the price comes out to about $1500 to $2000 over MSRP anyway, plus you don't even get to see the car first!!

So what do you do? Find a list of all the Honda dealerships local to you. Down here, the L.A. Times prints this in the end of the Automobile Classifieds section. Call them and ask for the color combo you want. If they have it, tell them one of the other dealers local to you is selling it to you for MSRP, but it's not arriving until next week, and you don't want to wait. This was the only way I could get dealers to move on the price. I was guaranteed MSRP OVER THE PHONE, no dealer options! Try this out...

Good Luck!

Beaverton Honda said that to there customers, buying anywhere else is like shopping at KMart. (actual words)And that they would gladly pay 42,000 for it just to buy it there. I swear that guys on crack.

Don't pay over MSRP. If I can be of any help let me know. My dealership has sold S2000's at MSRP with no forced options since day 1. If you have a particular color in mind and need some help finding it let me know as well I can try to direct yu to the dealers that have them, although I can not tell you what price they want because I don't know.

I have a 99 honda civic ex with $20,000 of upgrades in it.(I have an itemized list) I don't even want that much for it, around 18.5-19. Its silver, car was bought in cash, very classy, very clean, no big spoiler or stickers, very very good body work, everything is custom. One of the nicest civic's in this area. 30,000 miles.

Not yet, just trying to see if I can sell it with out all the hassel. Going to try to start selling it this weekend/next week. Dealer I talked to yesterday offered me 18.5 for it and told me it was the nicest civic they have ever seen. But they would not go under 3K over MSRP. Said that too many old rich guys come in and pay what ever. they ask.

What I would do is see if the dealer would just buy the car from you out right with you not buying anything then get your S2000 at MSRP from a different dealer.

What kind of stuff have you done to it?
Pictures?
