Yep, I just picked up a Alpine deck for less than $200 that came with the ipod connection for my beater and it works fine!!
Keep in mind, I'm not sure how old your ipod is, but the ipod adapter only works with 4th gen and up. I had a 3rd gen.

Ipod interfaces aren't that expensive. I got a USA Spec for $150 about 6 months ago and in another thread noticed that they now have something similar to that for around $80. Only way to drive that price up is if you have to pay for installation. I installed mine in less than 15 minutes. Deciding where to put the Ipod took more time than installing it. I'll be willing to show/teach you if you are near my area. Good luck

wow, even at $150 for adapter a new deck makes more sense.
Considering you can get an older alpine on ebay for about a $100 and the ipod interface(full speed, allows control of ipod from the deck) for about $20.
The problem though is that if you want to use your dash controls(volume, mute, channel, etc) youll have to buy modifry DCI for another $100

[QUOTE=nastinupe1,Sep 25 2007, 10:20 AM] So you would rather buy a device that does exactly the same thing as your old ipod, along with some features that you probably already have on your current cell phone rather than have the ability to play your ipod in your car.
I'm sorry dude, but that's not smart.

Yeah.. maybe I'll settle for a temporary transmitter err something. At least, until I figure out what I want to do.

THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT ADVICE. I really appreciate it.

What CD player is in your car? If you have the OEM CD player try this: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/stor...N_MLINK1_1.html
I have the model made for the 2004+ CD player since my car has that in it (previous owner). It works great and I installed it myself in about 3 minutes.
You just use a screwdriver with a towel around it to pry off the cover (pry from the top of the vents above the stereo) and undo the screws that hold the CD player in. Plug in the unit, run the wire out the side, and put it back together.
You could also email them to ask specifically what you should buy for your car, but I believe that is the unit.
