Default Help I can't get my S into the garage!

Alright so this is the situation. I just got engaged and am moving in with my finacee. Her house has the worst sidewalk it is very steep and high so getting a car that has low clearance is difficult. I used to have a dropped miata and had to make some ramps with 2 by 6 pieces of wood to get it up. I went over with my S and tried to put it in the garage and it won't go I tried to use the same pieces of wood but basically before the tires hit the wood the bumper will hit the sidewalk, anyone have any idea what i can do hear other than not put the car in the garage. i was thinking i could get some longer pieces of 2 by 6 or even 2 by 10 and make longer ramps but i am worried that they will break in half as the car travels on them please help.

Did you try going into the driveway at an angle? That's how I get my S into my apartment complex.

I agree, try at an angle. Did you tried in reverse as well or not? It does help sometimes.

Where I currently live I have a very steep (downward) driveway into the garage. In order to be able to use the garage I built a (quite large) ramp out of 2 x 4s and 48 x 48 sheets of plywood. The ramp is 8 by 8 feet and the 2 x 4s are underneath the sheets to provide support. At its peak the ramp is about 6 inches off the ground. Ever since building that pulling into and out of the garage has been easy.

To give you an idea here are 2 photos of the driveway before the ramp:

I don't have any photos of the ramp, but I'll take 1-2 later this wknd and post them.

Time for you to find your inner civil engineer and get to work my friend!

Sounds like you need a longer ramp with a less steep slope.
