Help! Gas Crisis in Georgia!

octane booster should be an alright solution for you until you are able to find premium. Running the straight 87 shouldnt be too bad as long as you arent ripping on the car too hard. Just take it easy and drive like a grandma. You will save gas like that anyway. If you are worried about the low octane then the octane booster should put you up over the reccomended octane level. Also if octane booster gets hard to find you could get a family member or friend or maybe even another board member from another state to ship you some octane booster. Good luck man.

Read the manual -- it says that if you have no option it is acceptable to put a lower octane gas into the car, but it is not preferred and you should return to 91 octane or above as soon as you are able to.
Like others have said, if knock is detected, the knock sensor will detect it and the ECU will back off timing to compensate for the lower octane gas.
It isn't preferred, but in this situation its fine to do. Like others have said, I would avoid hitting VTEC and overall revving the engine more than necessary.

Don't be surprised if you notice your CEL light come on once that tank gets to the bottom. It'll be ok.
I just drove down to Florida from PA and stopped at my sister's in Charlotte and had a crazy time finding gas. It looked like the photo's and vid clips you see from the 70's during the gas shortage. Once I got to Florida, everything was normal. And to think, N.C. didn't even get hit by the hurricanes.....
I'm not liking what the future will bring.....

It's costly but you can always hit a local speed shop or race shop... some of them sell racing gas by the five gallon can... 100 octane leaded... kind of do a little math and you can get your octane up to an acceptable level by adding a few gallons to a tank... plus it smells good.
