Default Help! fuel from gas station stained my car.

i was fueling up when i all of a sudden fuel started overflowing! it made a stain which gave it a lighter "blop" on my rear panel. what can i do to take this fuel off? it looks as if its removal, but I dont know what to use. thanks in advance.

Did it just "wash" the dirt and wax off? I have had this happen on many cars. I just use the window washer squeegy thing and put a bunch of the blue fluid on it to wash off the gasoline. I then wash and re-wax whenever I get around to it. No big deal really in my experience, just make sure you put your gas cap on first so you don't get any liquid other than gasoline in the tank.

i believe you might be correct. when it happened i might of wiped to hard and the fuel might of bonded with the paint creating this sol stain. its not too noticable if you dont know what your looking for. but ive tried washing it, buffing it, waxing it, scratch compound stuff, goo gone. and its STILL there. so note to people, dont wipe of fuel aggressively when taking off car.

Thanks for the warning. Have you tried a claybar? Try searching the wax and wash forum or any car detailing forum to see if they can help.

I imagine you won't get it out 100%, but you can probably make it less noticeable. If you are skilled at detailing, give it a shot yourself. Otherwise, this one will involve some real equipment and might be better left to a pro. That being said, assuming you know what you are doing, here is what I would try...

What I would do is similar to my approach for removing acid rain spots. I would use a rotary buffer and something like a high cut yellow pad or maybe even wool if it is THAT bad. I would start with a somewhat light polish (Menzerna FP then IP then PG) and if that did not work I would try something like Extreme Cut. That should make a dent in just about anything. After that, back off to a lighter polish gradually to remove any marring or hazing caused by the aggressive polish.

Best of luck!

YOU DO WHAT!? You realize those "window washer squeegy things" are abrasive right? You're doing more harm than if you just left the gas on your paint. Also, I'm not sure that "blue fluid" is too good for your paint either.
