HELP - Fuel Door Release Cable question
Im a newbie here - just bought a 2000 model, Berlinna Black, 22500 miles! The fuel door release cable has come detached from the point where it pokes through the inside of the tank fill area. I rigged it for now, but it seems that I may be missing a clip or something. Anyone have any idea if their is a piece that holds it in place?

I am taking this all from sketches in the Honda factory manual pages 20-98 and 20-108.
The cable is really quite short and is a total assembly from the button on the door jamb all the way to the fuel filler door pin and the ends seem moulded or affixed to the cable.
Both ends seem to twist lock into their respective mounting brackets.
The end at the filler door part is made similar to a twist out light bulb socket and the only thing sticking out should be a round pin that retracts when you pull the interior knob(The pin engages the hole in the tab that sticks out of the back side of the fuel door).
If you have the interior trunk trim removed the filler end should insert from inside the trunk into a double ended keyhole opening on the wall of the fuel door recess and hold in with a 90 degree rotation.
If the cable is showing on that end then you likely have to buy an entire cable assy and then take trim peices off (door jamb trim behind the driver seat and the trunk left side liner). The book also says to take the pan in the well below the convertible top out (good luck on this one) but you may be able to fish it through without that. The door jamb button also inserts from behind the jamb with a 90 degree twist.
Good luck.
