Default HELP ASAP - MY02 Hardtop Question

These questions apply to 2002 cars that HAVE HAD the hardtop installation done.

Where is the defrost switch go for the rear window in the hardtop?

Does this hardtop rear window use the same defrost switch that is in the dash of the 2002 or do they install a second switch in the center console to be used for only the hardtop?

Another Question - have you ever heard of the door panels needing to be removed so the electric windows can be adjusted to make the hardtop fit properly?

I was supposed to pick up my '02 Spa last night, but once I got there I could see clearly they were working without a clue.

Thanks!!!

1. Yes, you use the same switch. Only earlier models get a second switch.
2. I don't know.

You can download a PDF file with the 2002 installation instructions from HandAAccessories. I looked in my copy, and here's a quote from Page 10 on adjustments to the fit:

'If window glass adjustment is required, refer to the service manual'

Obviously, Honda anticipates that adjustments may be needed to the glass in some cases. My tech didn't say anything about it, so I don't know either way if mine needed it.

Relax - you're almost there!

P.S. - The PDF File isn't 100% accurate - it still lists the extra defroster switch, which may be a source of some of the confusion.

OK- I'm so confused!!!
The 2002 instructions for the hardtop as a download from H and A says the rear defrost switch IS IN the center console for a 2002.

That's what I mean by not 100% accurate.

I don't know if the techs have access to better instructions. I would hope so.....

Worst case, I could try to get in touch with the tech who did my install to see what he did.

Problem solved!

My dealer was using Publications No. All 23256, Issue Date OCT 2001.
They should have been using Publications No. 23256-23531, Issue Date MAR 2002.
The defrost switch DOES NOT go in the center console on a 2002 model.

Once again, Thanks S2KI, you are the best.

Now I can get my car tonight!
