Heat Wrapping Headers

if possiblle coat the header inside and out and it will last forever

Wow, maybe you should here from someone that has real experience with both header wrap and ceramic coatings.
Some have given you good insight as to others spreading hearsay, please stop. Giving advice on something you know nothing about. It is not fair to the people that are trying to learn more about what they are asking.

Header wrap and ceramic coatings have been used for years in all types of racing from automotive to snowmobiles.
Wrapping of fragile cast metals before welding is used to prevent cracking or uneven heat distribution.
Rust will happen only if the stainless is not of a good grade. To prevent this from happing you can coat the header before wrapping it with ceramic or a silicone based high temp coating.
I have used or am currently using a combination of ceramic and or silicone based coatings along with header wrap.
With my street driven 2002 Honda S2000 I have had no issues with cracking, rust, or any failure of any kind with my exhaust.

I use header wrap as an insulation to keep the noise level down in the car. I use a combination of

You mean like me? Have had both...have lost a very expensive stainless Ansa exhaust on a Lancia Scorpion due to header wrap.

Personally, won't use it again on an exhaust that I care to keep. Others can use at their own risk. But I agree that your process of water proofing the wrap may make a big difference.
