Default Heat in transmission tunnel

Just began to notice this (doesn't mean it hasn't been there before). I call it the transmission tunnel (where I rest my right arm including the cup holder, the roof button, flasher etc) is warm to the touch. If I have a short sleve shirt on it's a little uncomfortable but not red hot.

Is this normal? Does anyone else have this?

This has been mentioned before and is considered normal. That's why you'll sometimes see the beverage holder referred to as a "beverage warmer"

Probably should've done a search first - at least I know my hands won't be cold in the winter!
