headrest speakers
I have owned my S2000 for a few weeks now and am considering purchasing the headrest speaker system. Since they are not inexpensive ($675 installed cost at my dealer) I wanted to see if anyone has any first hand experience with them before making the commitment. Thanks for your feedback.

I installed mine a month after I bought the car, the speakers made a huge difference, I can hear music while driving on the freeway now
I paid around $600 to buy and install the speakers and for me it was worth it.

Get the pods instead, way cheaper and you can choose any 5" speaker you want.I think the pods are around $240 + speakers $60 or so dollars = $300 roughly.$600-$300= $300 savings

that mod kinda eliminates the purpose of headrest speakers as it would block a lot of the spectrum.
the Honda headrest speakers are expensive. You could buy a whole NICE system with a good headunit, good component speakers, and rears for the price. The Honda speakers are cheap paper speakers...but they look nice.

I just put in an aftermarket system. I don't need headrest speakers when I have a pair of Focals up front and a 120w x 2 amp powering them!

I'm not by any means an audiophile, but I do want to be able to hear the radio/stereo when on the highway with the top down. I replaced the head unit and the door speakers, and put a simple amp in the trunk by the spare wheel, and I can even hear NPR while driving next to a truck. Even paying the store to do the install, I only paid less than $700.

I own the honda factory headrest speakers and they are not paper cones.
Bit of mis-information here.
I usually put "a system" in my car.......4 to date. Got the headrest speakers and really don't see the point in this car.

Thanks to everyone, but especially those who replied who bought the Honda speakers. A followup to asu-lee, are the Honda speakers full range, or are they just tweeters--like some have suggested?
Thanks.
Thanks.
