This is an essential statistic to anyone attempting to get the clutch changed under warranty.Honda is refusing to replace mine and I shall have it done at my cost and take them to small claims court.

Any and all info in regards to this would be much appreciated by myself and the rest of the board,to be sure.

Give me the tools to establish a legal precedent...

I complained to my Honda Zone office and found they were willing to negotiate even before my clutch was looked at by the dealer.

One important point I focused on during the conversation is that the part Honda would use for the replacement has changed. The new part was produced because the old clutch had deficiencies. Therefore, Honda in a way admitted there are problems with the clutch.

Good luck!

I just got my car back today. I had the tranny TSB work, the seatbelt recall, and a replacement CD headunit installed.

As part of the tranny work, Honda replaced my clutch(an improved version, I was told), pressure plate and throwout bearing. I did not request this.

My transmission and clutch feel better than when new and no more metallic rattling noises anymore.

My Dealer, Honda City of Levittown, NY, USA, replaced my clutch, throwout bearing (they threw the old one out ), pressure plate, rear engine seal, and transmision input shaft seal while doing the 2nd gear upgrade without being asked to. There was some oil in the bell housing and they did not want to take the chance of having to rip it apart again.

They did an excellent job and the transmission shifts like a hot knife through butter.

I will post further details under a seperate post.

How many days did that take?
Did everything get done in one shot or did you have to wait for parts?

Take the above post, and apply it to me... it's the exact same situation. I got the trifecta... new clutch, pressure plate and flywheel.

And all that was covered under the 1-2 grind warranty!

FP: The parts were pre-ordered a couple of weeks ago. I dropped it off this past Monday morning and picked it up at noon today (Wednesday). Yes, they took care of everything in one shot. An excellent job I might add.

They even vacuumed the car for me!

honda_s2k,

What MA honda dealer did you take your car to? Did they make you demonstrate the 2nd gear grind? The dealer I use wants me to leave my car with them for a day to "verify" the problem....

Vacuumed? What kind of dealership vacuums?

As for me- they detailed my car completely! Wash, wax, vacuum, shiny tires, you name it!

Gotta love Classic Honda in Orlando!
